It's always fun to talk about new chamber members as well as the existing members we have. In fact, there are currently over 300 members in the Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce.

Two of the newest members are Mimbres Valley Medical Group and Deborah Van Tellingen Photography Studio.

Mimbres Valley Medical Group recently opened new offices in Silver City at 1000 North Hudson Street in Silver City. In June, Janie Vargas, a Physician Assistant, began seeing patients in the Silver City office. Mimbres Valley Medical Group is accepting new patients. You can call them at (575) 538-0486. Mimbres Valley Medical Group will host a ribbon cutting/open house on Wednesday – September 13 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The public is invited to visit one of Silver City's newest healthcare facilities.

Deborah Van Tellingen has opened a professional photography studio at 107 East Broadway – Suite #7 in downtown Silver City. Deborah Van Tellingen Photography is now open for business on an appointment basis. The studio is on the second floor of the building where Little Toad Creek is located at the corner of Bullard and Broadway. You enter through the yellow door on the Broadway Street side of the building. To make an appointment, you can call Deborah at (575) 342-1576. Her website address is http://www.deborahvantellingen.com and she also has a page on Facebook. Deborah can shoot pictures in the studio or at any other site the client prefers. If you need a good professional headshot for your business or social media, Deborah can shoot that for you in the studio. Deborah will have an Open House on Saturday – September 9 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce heartily endorses these businesses. We hope they have great success in Grant County.

I actually was stopped by a guy the other day that swears he could smell bacon frying at Denny's. Now I suspect he either has the best nose in Grant County and smelled the bacon from the Denny's in Lordsburg… or he was simply having a daydream of sorts. But it will not be much longer.

Have you noticed all the exercise equipment in the old shoe store building on Highway 1080 East near Arby's? Man, someone's going to do a lot of sweating.

Congratulations to another Chamber of Commerce member… The Grant County Rolling Stones Gem & Mineral Society. They have a new home on Memory Lane. This Saturday the group will be making a trip north to Luna in search of the beautiful world-famous Luna Blue Agate that can be found in that area. If you would like to go, see Mr. Ansel Walters at the Murray Ryan Visitors Center parking lot on Hudson Street at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday – August 19. Bring water, lunch, digging tools, a camera, and plenty of gasoline in the tank. It's a pretty long drive up to Luna.
