In the Bible’s Book of Romans, we are told that no one is free from sin. That’s every person who ever lived, is living, or will live. And, because God hates sin, we are excluded from heaven being the sinners we are.

This bad news only gets worse as the Book of Romans warns us that our sin has earned us death. Not only are we excluded from heaven; we are destined for hell. Forever apart from God and His love and goodness.

However, things begin to look up further on in the Book of Romans as God reveals that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us, so we wouldn’t have to suffer. God sent His Son in the form of a man to die in our place -- a sinless sacrifice which satisfied God’s requirement for the removal of our sin.

Now, the news gets even better as the Book of Romans informs us when we confess Jesus as our Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead, our sins are forgiven, and we will be welcomed into heaven.

You see, God knew we couldn’t make it to heaven on our own. Our sin keeps us out. But, God in His great love, provided a way for us to have our sins forgiven. He sent His only Son to take the punishment meant for us. God won’t force this invaluable gift on us; we have to reach out and take it. A gift doesn’t become ours until we take possession of it.

Jesus tells us, “I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him and he with Me.” He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Jesus awaits. Salvation awaits. Heaven awaits. What are you waiting for?
