A huge thanks to everyone who came in and volunteered for our Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day! We were able to feed 156 hungry folks and everyone said it felt just like one large happy family.

As people came in, we had them write what they were thankful for and posted many of the results on our Facebook page. Comments ranged from being thankful from everything from God and the Mission to family, dogs, and even their lives. We are thankful for all of the help we receive from the community in the forms of goods, cash and volunteers-we certainly couldn't do any of this without you.

And speaking of help, the Men's Cold Weather Shelter is looking OK so far, but we could still use some volunteers to help us run it so we don't have to close it when no one shows up.

You can see the calendar and spots that we have open at http://silvercitygospelmission.org/about-us/event-calendar/. Feel free to jump in or send anyone who wants to help to the Mission and we will put them on the list.

Coming up in December is the 6th Street School Christmas Party when the entire school and Head Start classes drop by the Mission to learn more about our services and have a Christmas party complete with gifts, crafts, and Santa Claus.

We will also be ringing bells at Walmart to help the Salvation Army generate funds that are used directly in Grant County on Tuesday, Dec 6th, 13th, and 20th and Christmas Dinner will be on Christmas Day (Sunday, Dec 25th) this year from 11-1 pm.
