Many of you have heard from some right-wing commentators about Hillary and Bill Clinton, as well as, Barack Obama following the rules of Saul Alinsky. Alinsky was an avowed socialist and his only goal in life was to turn America into a socialist state. Now while he died 42 years ago his books, Rules for Radicals and Reveille for Radicals outlined eight steps that would have to be accomplished in order to turn America into a socialist state with an overly powerful central government. How many of you actually know what those eight steps are? Well you’re going to know in a minute. He said, “There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state.” The first level is the most important.

Level I is healthcare. Control healthcare and you control the people. Obama accomplished that although it was started decades earlier with the implementation of Medicare and Medicaid which were originally designed only to help 3% of the population or our retired citizens but now Medicaid covers fully 33% of our population. And now with Obamacare they have almost complete control but they need that last step, a government run healthcare system which people like Bernie Sanders, an avowed socialist, are pushing.

Level II is poverty. Increase the poverty level as high as possible; poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything they need to live. When Lyndon Johnson’s war on poverty began, 13% of our population lived at or below the poverty level. That level has essentially never changed with one exception; when it increased to 14 ½% under Barack Obama. But we do have more people living on some form of government assistance than ever before including welfare, food stamps, Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid, and so on. So essentially while the poverty level has not increased many people not only feel like they are poorer, but they are not able to provide everything for themselves and they rely upon the government to provide those services for them. That fear of losing that assistance keeps many people voting for the same politicians and the same failed programs year after year.

Level III is debt. Alinsky advocated for increasing government debt to unsustainable levels. That way you can increase taxes, controlling more of the economy and as an added benefit people will become poorer. And where is the level of federal debt right now?

Level IV is gun control. Remove the ability to defend themselves by taking the guns of citizens and you will be able to create a police state. What has been the sole objective of the liberals every time there is a crime committed with a gun? To take away guns from the rest of us. The argument is always that you don’t need an automatic weapon or semi-automatic weapon in order to hunt. That is not the purpose of guns as defined in the Constitution. The purpose of citizens being armed and being able to maintain militias at the state level was to protect ourselves from tyrannical central governments. Not once have the same people who talked about gun control mentioned taking guns away from police departments or federal agencies. Or their personal security details for that matter.

Level V is welfare. Take control of every aspect of their life: food, housing, income and they become dependent upon you for everything they have. They will not vote against you for fear of losing their benefits. In fact they will do anything that you ask and give up almost any right that they have. What did I said before about what people being dependent upon the government for some form of sustenance or income?

Level VI is education. Alinsky wanted to take control of not only what children are taught, ensuring that the only thing they are taught is the benefit of a socialist state and denigrating any other form of government or economy, but also control what people listen to or read. Ensure that opposing views are silenced and that history which might give examples of different systems or how different systems work better than socialism is also silenced and removed from the educational system. We have outlined a number of examples, in fact thousands of examples, of how conservative viewpoints are silenced on our college campuses, along with how most of our education system has become an indoctrination into a specific liberal viewpoint rather than an open discussion of ideas.

Level VII is religion. Remove the belief in God from government, society and the classroom. Not one person can argue that this is being done and has been very successful. At least with regards to the Christian and Jewish God.

Level VIII is class warfare. Create division among the wealthy and everyone else. That way it will be easier to take (tax) the wealth of the rich with the support of the rest of the citizens. We see this from the liberal politicians and the media every day. We always hear that any tax break is going to benefit the rich or that the rich are not paying their fair share even though statistics and factual evidence prove otherwise.

If you step back and think about what I just told you about these eight steps to create a socialist state, every one of these steps is well on its way to being accomplished. A socialist state has never worked, as history has proven time and again. Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea. Even socialist states such as Sweden and the Netherlands are backing away from some of the promises they have made based upon a socialist government because it is not sustainable.

We did not become the richest nation in the history of the world, creating the largest middle-class, the highest standard of living, the best healthcare system in the world, or even the best education system in the world by being a socialist nation. We achieved more in a shorter time period than any other nation on the face of the earth or in the history of mankind because we gave people an opportunity to succeed on their own without government control. We are in danger of losing that if we do not stop this progression towards a socialist state.
