The media is reporting that President Trump may have referred to all illegal immigrants as "animals." That has his opponents up in arms and a lot of ignorant mouth breathers wondering why he would say something so degrading, intolerant, and mean. Of course, that’s not what he said.

Just as an aside, have you noticed how it’s OK to call them ‘illegal immigrants’ if the left wing is using the story to bash conservatives, but if we use the term we are racist?

Even those with the door to their mind only slightly ajar rather than wide open can look at the video of the comments Trump made and understand he was talking only about the gang, MS13. The gang that has as its motto 'rape, control, kill.' I’d say they have given us adequate reason to say they are acting like animals. Law enforcement agencies all over North and Central America have labeled MS13 as one of the most violent gangs in history. It’s not simply rhetoric, their actions prove they have no regard for life and achieve their 'success' through very violent means.

Nancy Pelosi picked up the liberal storyline thrown down by the website Vox, when she said, “So when the president of the United States says about undocumented immigrants, ‘These aren’t people, these are animals,’ you have to wonder, does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person?’ She wasn’t alone as news outlets used tag lines for their stories saying either it was unclear if Trump was referring to all immigrants or some immigrants or that Trump called some who cross the border illegally 'animals.'

Too often our elected officials speak in ways that leave you wondering what they actually said or meant. President Trump speaks the language that most of us use and understand. That’s one reason he’s so popular. There is no doubt how he feels about MS-13 gang members.

I have long held that one of the undeniable truths of life is that all news reporting is biased no matter how hard you try to be impartial. Every story has a limit, whether it’s space in a print newspaper or a radio/T.V. broadcast which has time limitations. The reporter must decide what information to include or exclude from the report due to those limitations. That can certainly taint the conclusions drawn by the consumer. Even in an online news source such as this, where we have much more space available, we must be aware of the attention span of the reader.

Take that to the next step, which we are seeing more openly than ever before, and have ‘reporters’ actively mislead the public and you have a deliberate, not so covert attempt to undermine and remove a duly elected President of the United States simply because many elites don’t like him or feel threatened by his success.

Throw on top of that the ever-clearer picture of Washington’s elite doing their best to unseat Trump and you’ve got to conclude that we live in a borderline banana republic. If we do not carry the midterm elections, we will be returning to a banana republic. We have to elect candidates who share Trump’s goals and belief in the Constitution.

I have a challenge for each of you; we all know someone who gets their news from a single source, usually CNN or the network news shows. Find a way to convince them to read, view, or listen to an alternative source of news. Play to their ego by telling them you know they are among the more reasonable and more open minded of your friends and you know they’d appreciate seeing a different take on the news. However you get them to do it, we have to bring them out of the shadows of ignorance to have a chance to drain the swamp and make America great again.
