There have been so many 'major' stories in the news the past couple of weeks that it's hard to decide which ones to cover in depth, since that would leave little time to discuss some of the other stories. That's why there is the 'quick hits' columns. So let's get to it.

Paul Ryan proved once again that he's part of the swamp when he said that birthright citizenship is protected by the Constitution. It is not and that has been made abundantly clear by the authors of the 14th Amendment. Birthright citizenship as it is now practiced did not start until the 1960s when policy decisions were made by bureaucrats to interpret not only the Constitution but immigration laws incorrectly. Our country was coming off of a period of almost no immigration beginning shortly after WWI and ending in the 1950s. The authors of the 14th Amendment said specifically that those who were subject to the jurisdiction of another country, and not solely to the jurisdiction of the U.S., were not to be granted automatic citizenship simply because they were born on U.S. soil. President Trump has the ability to reverse that policy decision with an executive order.

With the mob headed across Mexico towards our southern border, President Trump is sending up to 15,000 troops to defend the border. Many are worried about the optics of our military turning women and children back, using some level of force. I have a solution: the Taser shotgun shell. There is actually a 12 gauge shotgun shell containing a small Taser that can be much more effective than a handheld Taser. And it can be targeted to a specific person much more easily than a wire lead Taser. Fire a few of those bad boys at the 27-year-old men hiding behind women and children, the cowards will turn tail and run faster than I run towards an open bar.

If I ever get grandchildren, I'm going to show them the movie '2012,' tell them it's a documentary and that I helped save the world from Armageddon.

CNN's Don Lemon said the biggest terrorist threat to America is white guys, most of whom are radicalized to the right. Does that mean he's afraid of his life partner? How does he tell if a white man is radicalized to the right?

Have you noticed how quickly the so-called MAGA bomber has virtually disappeared from the news? I don't often wear a tin foil hat, but this deal smells to high heaven. None of the bombs exploded even though FBI bomb disposal experts said several were so unstable they had to be detonated on site. The bumper stickers on his van were all new; none showed normal wear and tear that would have occurred in the Florida sun. Photos and videos of the bomber began to surface showing him with Democrat politicians and donors; none with Republican donors or politicians. He recently changed his party affiliation from Green to Republican. I'm not saying it was a left wing plot, but I'm saying it was a plot.

Another local Republican party office was firebombed this week. Since 2016 there have been 573 direct acts of violence and/or vandalism directed at Republican politicians, candidates, offices, etc. During that same time frame, there have been 32 similar incidents targeted towards Democrats. But we are the ones guilty of committing violent acts?

Let it go man! A 28-year-old Polish man called police to report the theft of his Karaoke machine. Officers listened as the man described returning to his car to find the windows broken and his professional, K-Tel, Karaoke machine gone. Shortly after filing the report, police called the man to a local pawn shop where he identified his machine. It had been pawned just hours earlier. Unfortunately, a few weeks earlier, that very same machine had been reported stolen by a professional DJ. The man now faces theft charges when he could have just let it go and stolen another machine.
