Our little corner of the world has received some great publicity over recent years: best places to retire, best little towns, great restaurants, wonderful outdoor lifestyle. Tonight on NBC we'll be shed in a different light, not so much the town, but the focus will be on an horrific event, a murder, that grabbed headlines. Most of us have some knowledge of the events, but not an in depth knowledge. What will be interesting to me is how not only the case will be portrayed but also about how our town will be portrayed. We'll have a rare chance to see how a media outlet reports the facts. I wonder how many people will pick up on incorrect information?

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Baby It's Cold Outside, Charlie Brown's Christmas Special; all are now banned or under fire for being racist, misogynist, promoting bullying or some other offensive behavior. I learned tolerance and not to judge people from Rudolph's special. But what really chaps my derriere is that the same people wanting to wipe these shows and songs from the airwaves are the same people that are unbelievably quiet about some of the rap lyrics we are subjected to on the public airwaves. It is not only all of the above, but it is patently offensive on a level that, if the words were spoken by a conservative, white, middle aged, Christian male, the public outcry from the left would be deafening.

You can hate racism and also hate white people. It doesn't work that way; none of this works that way.

Have you ever put on a pair of underwear right out of the dryer? The feeling of warmth is fantastic! The other people in the laundromat were not as impressed as I was, but...

Some of you may know there is a group in town looking for business development opportunities. They have spoken to a number of business people and politicians. I happened to be seated near them one afternoon at a local restaurant. A question was asked about the political climate in New Mexico and Grant County. The response was saddening, but true. A $25,000 stipend to a couple of Democrat legislators will get you anything you need in New Mexico.

We have watched the silencing of conservative voices on college campuses across America. Open discussion of ideas is no longer accepted in our institutions of higher learning. Do you know why? Not intolerance. Not a desire to eliminate 'hate speech.' No, whether it's a conscious effort or not is debatable, but it's because ignorant people obey better than those taught to think critically. If the liberals' ideas are so good, wouldn't they want to debate the opposition's ideas in public?

The cheese eating surrender monkey currently calling himself President of France has, surprise, surprise, surrendered. After implementing a tax on gasoline in order to combat man caused global warming, the middle class in France rebelled. The riots became violent and finally President Macron capitulated, sort of. He suspended collection of the tax but you can bet it will be back in six months, after he has time to figure out how to sell it to the middle class.

What do you do when you want to celebrate a special occasion? You go to a steak house. Enter any steak house and you'll find a bunch of happy people, enjoying a nice meal, laughing, talking, the energy is so upbeat and positive. They don't go to a vegan restaurant because no one there is happy, the mood is somber, because none of them have the energy to be upbeat. Heck, they can barely lift a glass of organic filtered water much less raise a glass of wine to toast their dining companions.
