(Silver City, NM)—On July 16, 2014 the Grant County Sheriff's Office conducted a School Trends Training for the Cobre School District. Instructor Cpl. Michael Burns went over what to do and look for in case we ever encountered a critical incident at a school. The main focus of this training was preparation for an active shooter incident.

Also during this training session the Special Response Team from the Grant County Sheriff's Office and representatives from the US Border Patrol put on a scenario based demonstration on how to react to an active shooter incident. The school was represented by school administration and faculty. If you have any questions you may contact the Grant County Sheriff's Office.
