Silver City, NM-This past Saturday, October 18 community members enjoyed an exciting day of sisterhood, delicious foods, and competitive bidding. P.E.O. Chapter BR hosted the third annual purse and silent auction raising over $7,000 benefiting the Nancy Champlain P.E.O. Foundation Scholarship for Grant County high school female seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited college or university.

The highlight of the auction was when auctioneer Danna Stout, of Matney Auctions facilitated the sale of Savannah Guthrie's "Millie" purse. "I love to see this type of fundraiser for our community. The day is full of fun and energy and I'm happy that I get to play a role in it. It was exhilarating to see how much the ladies got into the bidding," said Stout.

The chapter would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all their donors and volunteers. "It was amazing to see the community pull together to contribute to such a spectacular event," commented Barbara Taylor, Chapter BR President. "Each year the auction keeps getting bigger and better and it's all thanks to our donors, volunteers, and participants."
