The G.W Stout Elementary School Kiwanis "K-Kids"raised funds for a cause of their choice by organizing a car wash on Saturday, November 1. Members of this Kiwanis sponsored youth service club, led by their faculty advisor, Mr. Ben Duran, washed cars to lend support to a fellow student that has been experiencing serious health issues this year. "Every month the club will hold a community service project. The project for October is this carwash to support a fellow 5th grade student that recently had neurosurgery, causing the family to incur medical costs and travel expenses for future follow ups."

K-Kids is the service component of the Kiwanis Kids program. K-Kids clubs provide elementary school students with their first opportunity to learn about organizing projects that help others. Kiwanis K Kids are working in over 900 clubs in 12 nations. Each K Kid member works together in service to their school and community, which in turn develops basic leadership skills and strong moral character.

Kiwanis International empowers people at every stage of life to become competent, capable, and compassionate leaders by helping them learn to help others. Through its Service Leadership Partners, Kiwanis teaches young leaders new ways to change the world by serving one child and one community at a time.
