The Grant County Community Foundation held its monthly meeting of the board on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Bear Mountain Lodge. Five new board members were unanimously elected to serve 3- year terms:
New Members:
- Deborah Frasca, Life Quest
- Priscilla Lucero, Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments
- Sandra Riva, International Transactions (Literary Agents)
- Susie Trujillo, Grant County Health Council
- Justin Wecks, Operations Specialist Gila Regional Medical Center
New board members join nine serving members.

- Alicia Edwards, Executive Director of The Volunteer Center
- Peggy Hutchinson, Vice Chair/ Treasurer, Community Member

- Mary Newkirk, non-profit consultant
- Peter Russell, Downtown Development
- Lucy Tully, Associate Broker with United Country

Action items of note included board authorization for the Chair to sign a contract for $2500 with Kimbia, Give Local America, to provide the web platform on Give Grandly Day, May 5, 2015. Give Grandly is part of the National Day of Giving. Thirty-seven non-profits in Grant and neighboring counties formed the Southwest New Mexico Non Profit Coalition at a January 8th meeting of all the non-profits. The coaliton will organize this all day event in Gough Park for May 5, 2015
Last year on May 6, 2104, the Grant County Community Foundation spearheaded the first ever event of this kind in Grant County. In a 24-hour giving period, donors gave $56,852 to the participating non-profits. Statewide, New Mexico raised $873,000 breaking all donation records.
