The New Media Mini-Festival is ongoing at Parotti Hall at WNMU. West Virginia University English professor Sandy Baldwin, son of Bill and Caroline Baldwin of Silver City, is in town for a few days to perform in the mini-festival. He will return in the autumn as a participant in the Southwest Festival of the Written Word.

Last evening, the participants described their work - all very avant-garde. Sandy Baldwin talked about his field of electronic literature. Others included three musicians and a young woman who is doing innovative, collaborative work with dance, wearable electronics, and sculpure. She explained with pictures a large audio-sculpture of amyloids that grew out of collaboration with a medical researcher.

Friday evening, from 7-9 p.m. they will all be doing "performances." Last evening's audience,
perhaps 25, was encouraged to return tonight to experience these very innovative art forms
