Recently the High Desert Humane Society received a call from a Jay Ragsdale from Colorado, who was on a mission. Seems like when some oil field workers over in Texas where he had been working had finished up their job, they packed up and headed home leaving behind 21 dogs. Jay could not stand to think of them trying to survive on their own, so he took it on himself to call around to the Humane Societies looking for ones that had some room to take animals. The High Desert Humane Society took a few and so did Santa Clara ACO Shirley Wiegel and Deming. Some have already been adopted. Shown above is Maddie who was so matted up and dirty when she came in that we thought she was black and tan. My, oh my, what a difference a haircut and a bath has done, for she is now one happy girl.
