May has been a busy month for Silver City Golf Course. The New Pro Shop Club House is  open for business.

On May 16, a fund-raising golf tournament was held and the raffle drawing for the original watercolor painting donated by local artist "Warnack" was held following the tournament. A couple from Murrietta CA, Peggy and Wayne Bosna, were the winners of the painting.

The main goal of this tournament was to raise funds for the new club house, and appreciation goes out to all who participated. Special kudos goes out to Dominic Curran, Silver City Golf Pro and his entire staff for a job well done!

The main event for May was the annual Mr. & Mrs. Golf tournament on May 22 - 25. This tournament has been held for over 30 years and attended by couples from all over the country. If you missed it this year, mark it down on your calendar for 2016 Memorial Day weekend. A spokeswoman said it is well worth the trip. "Golf, food, and fun cannot come in a better formatt than this tournament that simply can't be outdone," she said.

This year, the top 3 place trophies were created by the renowned Isleta NM native artist, Bobby Jojola, (pictured with the pieces). The proud winners of the tournament and the works of art are as follows:

Below, 3rd place - Thomas and Lorie Gutierrez
2nd place - Paul and Linda Boucher
1st place - Dominic and Angie Curran
