The Copper CowBelles, an organization whose mission is to promote the livestock industry and to educate the public of the nutritional benefits of beef, have announced their 2015-2016 scholarship recipients who are Grant County high school graduates pursuing agricultural college degrees. Receiving $500 each are Ryan McCauley, an Animal Science major at NMSU, Tancee Bussey, an Ag Extension Education major also at NMSU and Kinsey Fisher, majoring in Family and Consumer Science within the Agriculture department at NMSU. Ryan plans to return to ranching when he graduates. Tancee wants to be sure today's kids understand where the food on their tables comes from and Kinsey wants to promote agricultural programs and work with youth in 4-H programs.

A scholarship in the amount of $1000 was also awarded to Erin Crumbley-Fuchs who is in her final year studying Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M. The CowBelles are especially proud of Erin and her long-term education plan. Scholarship Chair, Pat Hunt, explained that the group "has been assisting her since she was a sophomore at NMSU, and to see her graduation scheduled for next Spring makes us feel a part of her success!" Anyone wanting scholarship information can contact the CowBelles at 575-534-7649.
