Las Cruces, NM - The New Mexico International Pageants announces that Brighton Joe Turner was crowned on March 19 in Albuquerque, NM as Miss Teen New Mexico International 2016. Brighton will compete in the Miss Teen International Pageant being held on July 23 - 30, 2016, in Jacksonville, FL with other young ladies from around the world for a chance to be crowned Miss Teen International 2016.

Brighton is currently a Junior at Centennial High School where she is involved in Student Government, as a member of the National Honor Society, HOBY, SADD, FFA, DARE and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. During her reign as Miss Teen New Mexico International 2016, she will promote and speak out on her platform DARE to be the change through education, literacy and community involvement by empowering youth to stand up for what is right. Some of Brighton's favorite hobbies include hiking, tennis, volleyball, and spending time with family and friends.

And if you really want to make an impression with her talk to her about her love of elephants. Some of her past honors include New Mexico DARE State Rep, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Character Counts and the Academics/STUGO Letter.

Miss Brighton Joe Turner from Las Cruces, NM is the granddaughter of Silver City residents, Tom and Ru Than Turner & Kathleen Ramey.
