Silver City, NM (April 29, 2016) - Wellness Recovery Action Plan [WRAP] training was held at Hidalgo Medical Services' (HMS) New Beginnings Psychosocial Recovery Program on Wednesday, April 27th. WRAP is a step by step program developed by Mary Ellen Copeland, PhD, to help individuals facing mental health and /or substance abuse issues get well and stay well.

WRAP training promotes empowerment by helping participants develop individualized tools to relieve difficult feelings and maintain their own wellness. "Build Your Own WRAP Plan" was presented by Dolores Donihi, a certified WRAP Facilitator whose son is living with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. The community event was made possible through funding from Local Behavioral Health Collaborate 6 and Hidalgo Medical Services.
