The Bayard City Council held its regular meeting on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2 p.m.

All events during the meeting were approved with a unanimous vote.

The meeting began with the approval of the agenda for the meeting.

Judge Jose Sandoval and Eloy Medina gave the council some information during the public input section of the meeting. Judge Sandoval requested approval to travel to Albuquerque, NM for the Municipal Judges Conference. Eloy Medina said there would be privacy rooms and new furniture added to the Old Fire Station. These changes will be made to allow a 24-hour crew at the station.

During the Mayor and Councilor Reports part of the meeting, Councilor Raul Villanueva thanked Eddie and the maintenance crew for filling the holes at the Little League field, and asked Chief Kerin for police officers to patrol the recreational areas.

Councilor Chon Fierro, in his report, asked about the welcome sign solar lights, and if the speed bumps in the city could be painted.

Samantha Fletcher was approved for a $0.25 per hour wage increase. Fletcher was also approved to be removed from introductory as of April 16, 2016, and changed to regular full-time office support.

Brandi Pyron was approved to be hired as a patrol officer with a $15.25 per hour wage, upon her successful completion of all pre-employment exams.
