"The BioFire allows our Lab professionals to manage all aspects of the testing process onsite, from sample preparation to DNA amplification and detection" said Darla Allen, Director of GRMC's Laboratory Services. "This technology will allow our caregivers to treat disease states earlier than ever before. We can get results within an hour as compared to waiting 2 to 3 days for the organisms to grow."

Many tests that could have taken days to get results can be completed in a matter of hours. The system is specifically designed to purify, concentrate, detect and identify targeted nucleic acid sequences delivering results directly from unprocessed samples.

"Gila Regional is committed to being equipped with the best technology available," said Brain Cunningham, CEO at GRMC. "Patient care is our primary focus, and faster lab results mean faster treatments and in turn, faster recoveries."
