Last week Girl Scout Troop 54049 from Mimbres, NM, had Eloy Medina, Director of Gila Regionals EMS Department, help the girls earn parts of their First Aid Badges. They learned how to prepare ahead such as being sure to take enough water and a jacket/sweater when going on a hike. Eloy talked about different scenarios and how girls might handle emergency situations and when they should or should not move an injured person. They were able to do CPR on the doll, learned the Heimlich Maneuver and discussed what should be in a first aid kit. Not in order are Dorothy Grijalva, Angelica Sias, Kaissa Villegas, Danica Valencia, Cheyanne Medrano, Eloy Medina, Dotti McDougal, Carly Close, Annabelle Fink, Esmiah Roybal, Quetzali Abeyta, Adriene Abeyta, and Pamela Fangman.
