SVA held a combined Western and Wildlife and Gila River Landscape show on the weekend on Sept. 23 to Sept 25. 9 artists entered, including two from Deming and there were 39 pieces of art in the two shows. The judge was Rita Sherwood from the Place at the Palace gallery and she said she had a hard time choosing since there were many good pieces. The winner of the Best of Show for the Landscape show was a metal bowl with leaves around it by David Mulvenna who owns the Artist Lair Gallery. Best of Show for the Western and Wildlife Show as won by Libby Beck with a Crow style beaded bag and the Judge's Choice award was won by Diana Le Marbe of Deming with a sculpture of a Native American man.
