Local authors and artists showcased their work at the Silver City Quarterly Review (SCQR) celebration held at the WNMU McCray Gallery on Saturday, October 15. The event drew a large crowd and the readings were enthusiastically received.

The SCQR was founded by Chris Lemme in Fall of 2015 to offer a venue for authors and artists to share and promote their work. During the inaugural year, both seasoned authors and budding writers, including students from Aldo Leopold Charter School, have appeared in the online publication.

Local poets, Beate Sigriddaughter, Elise Stuart, and Raven Drake read from new and published works. Chris Lemme, editor of the SCQR, read from his forthcoming novel The Sex Therapist and debut novel Finding Bartholomew. Catalina Claussen read from her award winning, debut young adult novel Diamonds at Dusk. Mary O'Loughlin shared poetry and an excerpt from a novel in progress. Jane Janson read "Karaoke," a short story published in the Green River Anthology.

Photographers Julie Enos, Diana Edwards, and Ajalaa Claussen provided a wide range of subject matter from portraits to landscapes, in color and in black and white. Elvira Godfrey displayed work from her collection of line drawings. Teri Matelson presented stunning works in colored pencil. Mary O'Loughlin's work is mixed media poetry woven into fabric with natural materials.
