In quick succession, the Town of Hurley (April 12), the Village of Santa Clara (April 13), Grant County (April 20), the City of Bayard (April 24) and the Town of Silver City (April 25) proclaimed Saturday, May 6, 2017, Give Grandly! Give Local! Day. The proclamations were gratefully accepted on behalf of the Grant County Community Foundation and the Southwest New Mexico Non-Profit Coalition representing the participating non-profits .

All five proclamations recognize that local non-profit organizations GÇ£provide invaluable services to our communityGÇ¥ and express the hope that Give Grandly! Give Local! Day GÇ£shall inspire the public to support our non-profit organizationsGÇ¥. This year's non-profit fair is the fourth such community-wide giving event sponsored by the Foundation since 2014.

On Saturday, May 6, over 50 local non-profits will have staff or volunteers sitting at tables next to the Silver City Farmers' Market from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm to highlight what they do for the community, answer questions and receive donations in the form of checks or cash.
