Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest in Silver City gives a gift to the first baby girl born on or after the Girl Scout Birthday of March 12.

Girl Scouts from Troop 543232, left to right, are Samantha Armstrong, Rylee Reyes, Sophie Landreth, and Ella Bertolani.This year Baby Girl Patel was born to Ritesh and Neha Patel from Deming born on the March 14 at 1:30 a.m. The parents were given a bag full of gifts such as diapers, wipes, clothes, stuffed animals and – of course – Girl Scout Cookies, and baby girl was given a certificate making her an honorary Girl Scout.

The baby does not have a name yet, so we are going with baby girl Patel.
