Plein air paintings included the Blues Fest location at Gough Park as well as the picturesque downtown, plus scenes from outlying areas. There were 32 entries submitted by 14 different artists and six winners announced. Best of Show was awarded to Meredith Milstead and People's Choice to Louise Sackett. Awards of Distinction were given to Jodi Murphy and Melinda McIntosh. MRAC Purchase Prize awards were given to Louise Sackett and Jodi Murphy.

Judge Paula Geisler praised the art presented, saying that she was looking for composition, color and a little whimsy in making her decisions. She was so impressed with the talent shown that she is planning an exhibit for the participants' art at her Common Ground Gallery in downtown Silver City.

Art Guild President Diane Kleiss sends "thank yous" to many people including Kevin Lenkner and MRAC for advertising the event and providing the pavilion as well as providing the purchase prize awards. Leyba and Ingalls Art Supply is also thanked for its contributions toward awards for the winners. Volunteers from Silver City Art Association manned the booth and plein air artist and SCAA member Gay Scheibl worked with MRAC to make the event a success.
