The New Mexico Community Trust (“Trust”) confirmed a proposal from Silver Consolidated Schools to support technology-related projects across the school district has been approved for funding in the amount of $500,000 over the next two (2) years.

Our CyberPatriot program gives our students a hands-on opportunity to experience real world cyber security issues and allows the district to provide a rich learning experience that gives the participating students the knowledge and skills that are necessary in today’s digital landscape. After witnessing the success of our CyberPatriots Program Success, this past December Silver Consolidated Schools was contacted and asked to submit a proposal for projects to further the educational experience our students are receiving on how to safely use technology to improve their quality of life.

"Technology can be a powerful tool for transforming learning. It can help affirm and advance relationships between educators and students, reinvent our approaches to learning and collaboration, shrink long-standing equity and accessibility gaps, and adapt learning experiences to meet the needs of all learners."  These funds will be used to support Cyber Patriots teams at both La Plata Middle school and Silver High School, and hopefully Cliff!  Additional network safety security software and learning applications for schools are a part of the approved projects!  Great Job, Ben Potts and Rusty Nations for submitting and earning these Grant Funds!
