kkylee renee jonesThe Jacob Bennett Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce that Miss Kylee Renee Jones has been selected as a New Mexico State Good Citizen Scholarship Award Program Candidate. Miss Jones, the daughter of Dayna and Aaron Jones and a senior at Silver High School was awarded this honor having been selected from all High School Seniors in Grant County.

The DAR Good Citizens program and scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public and private secondary schools that are in good standing with their state boards of education.

The student selected to represent their school must have qualities of dependability, including trustfulness, loyalty, and punctuality; service, which includes cooperation, courtesy and consideration of others; leadership, including personality, self-control and the ability to assume responsibility; and patriotism which includes unselfish interest in family, school community and nation to an outstanding degree.

Additional award winners include; Keana Richelle Huerta, daughter of Richard and Delilah Huerta from Cobre High School and Phoenix Kilbourne Hogan, daughter of Pamela Hogan from Also Leopold Charter High School.
