PreceptorTauMembers of Preceptor Tau Chapter recently honored Arlene Sarkela on her 50th anniversary of membership in Beta Sigma Phi.  Members of Preceptor Tau Chapter gathered to confer the traditional Golden Circle Ritual, and present her with a gold-plated rose and a Certificate of Honor.

Arlene was born in Hancock, Michigan, and has been a resident of Silver City since 1969.  She is a graduate of Western New Mexico University, after which she worked at the Methodist Child Care center and retired as the director.  She has been associated with the EF Foundation for Foreign Study and has overseen many foreign exchange students at Silver High School.

Throughout her years of membership in Beta Sigma Phi, she has served in all offices and chaired many committees.  In addition to her sorority activities, she continues to remain active with the Grant County Art Guild where she is known for her beautiful and creative paintings.

She and her husband Rick are parents to Melissa and Eric, grandparents to April and Kevin, and great-grandparents to Leonydas.
