The Silver High School Chess Club hosted a fundraiser Saturday, Dec. 22, with benefits to go toward Shop with a Cop, an annual event that pairs up young students with law enforcement officers from throughout the area. The recently completed  event hosted more than 100 students who saw a movie, had lunch catered by SHS students, and shopped for items at Walmart. At this fundraiser for next year's event, chess players, from left, Eli Scavron, 17; Forest Brown, 18; and Travis Bailey, 15, look at possible moves, while coach Mike Giusto, looks on and studies the board. The students were waiting for community members to challenge them in chess matches.
