To the editor:
The Lottery Scholarship tuition award is calculated based on a percentage of the full-time tuition average for each of the three college sectors. The full-tuition averages are $2,671 for the research sector (UNM, NMSU, NMIMT); $1727 for the comprehensive (4-year college) sector; and $667 for the community colleges and branch campuses.
For the 2015-16 academic year the Lottery Tuition Fund will support up to 90% of these sector average tuition rates, or the full tuition if that amount is below the 90% average. The 90%-level awards are $2,404 at the research schools; $1,554 at the comprehensives; and $600 for the community colleges and branch campuses.

Applying this rule to the schools in New Mexico we get
