To the Editor:

In your article "Cobre School Board Approves Budget", you quoted Toy Sepulveda, Board President as saying that the Board discussed Personnel matters, athletic handbook, food service and the budget in the closed portion of the meeting. All of these items except personnel matters violate the open meeting law. Its not uncommon for boards to violate the open meetings law but it is unusual for them to admit it in public.

Its not hard to follow the law.
