To the Editor:

A couple of comments on the Board of Regents article: While tuition did not increase, the "slight" increase in student fees is an increase of $113 a semester, or an increase of 22.5%. You have to make a lot more than me to call that slight.

The Lottery Scholarship only pays toward tuition, not fees, so for students on the Lottery scholarship the $113 increase comes out of their pocket.

For a student taking 15 hours, their contribution to athletics through student's fees increases from $243 a year to $314 a year. Total student fees to athletics, next year, will be about $640,000.
