The New Mexico Higher Education Department has determined the level of funding for the Lottery Scholarship for Fall 2016 and Spring 2017. The Lottery Scholarship funds only a portion of tuition costs of the student, the student must personally pay student fees.

For research institutions (NM Tech, UNM, NMSU) the Lottery Scholarship will pay $2,465.68, for comprehensive institutions (ENMU, NMHU, NNMC, WNMU) it will pay $1,643.11 and for community colleges (there are 19) $617.25.

For a Lottery Scholarship student at WNMU this means $460 in uncovered tuition and $1,219 in fees for a total of $1,679 the highest in the state. The next highest is ENMU at $1,111. The lowest is NNMC at $720.
