Letter to the Editor:

My great-grandparents homesteaded in the Cliff area in 1911 and I'm fortunate to be the 4th generation to continue ranching on the land. Grant County has always been my home and what makes this county unique are the people. Grant County folks have always been industrious, caring and have a high set of standards. My children, Autumn and Beau along with Beau's wife Shalako are owners of Amplified Therapy, Britton and his wife, Shelby are owners of Advanced Veterinary Care and reside in the county. I hope that my grandchildren will also have the opportunity to live and work in Grant County.

However with the upcoming county and state elections, I have concerns about our future and the future of our children. We have a group of people whose main desire is to change Grant County, as we know it. After attending the Commissioners Forum and listening to the candidates I realize that the group who claim to be Democrats are actually Progressive Liberals by their own admission and have their own personal agendas. Their platform doesn't address the concerns of the majority of people who live in Grant County. They are more interested in the Gila River diversion, introducing wolves to the area, eliminating Arizona Water Settlements Act Agreement, promoting an idea that future Municipalities and County leaders come only from Aldo Leopold School. They do not seem to support the mining industry (county's largest employer) ,ranching and agriculture people.

I urge all the people in Grant County to read and listen to what each candidate advocates and supports as this election will affect our way of life. These three Progressives are banking their victory on two things:

1) All registered Democrats will automatically pull the Democrat lever come Election Day, without studying or understanding their candidate's position
2) Democrats who supported someone else during the Primary will be frustrated by the outcome of their candidate and won't vote.

As I live in Cliff, I fully support and endorse Billy Billings for District 4 Commissioner. He is a candidate that not only is concerned about his district; he is concerned about all of Grant County. His family has lived here for generations and has been successful in ranching and private enterprises. He supports mining and education for all of the county schools, not just one school. Personally knowing Billy, I can say he is trustworthy and a man of integrity. He works with all people to come up with solutions that benefit the majority not the minority.

People, it's imperative that you go to the polls and cast your vote on Election Day............
