Dear Editor:

Having been in town on the day the "Protestors" were protesting, and wondering what it was all about, I read with interest the article about the protest on the Beat, as well as an article in the Silver City Sun-News and one in the Silver City Daily Press.

All three articles had a little different spin on what it was about, but all seemed to indicate that the protestors were upset with Steve Pearce and Donald Trump. Some were probably protesting just because they can.

All of the articles, however, quoted the protestors as saying that they were protesting Steve Pearce because he wasn't representing his constituents.

I would like to say that maybe they feel he isn't representing their personal choices of what they feel he should be representing.

Contrary to what they say, I feel that he is definitely representing his constituents.

He has actually not only been to Silver City, but he has been to the small towns in Catron County and talked to the people there to see what their concerns were. And he is doing a lot to assist them.

If those protesting Mr. Pearce feel that he is not representing them, know that they are not the only constituents he has, and there are a lot of items that he needs to be concerned with that have nothing to do with what they feel is right.

Maybe they need to back up and look at a bigger picture, instead of their own narrow focus.

Thanks,
Gary Hulsey
