Dear Editor:

I have read Michele Connelley’s letter to the editor concerning the primary subject of the post I made about criminal intimidation and murder of journalists in Mexico. So I am both writing to her response that is germane and to the rest of the readers of the Grant County Beat simply to clarify and inform. To that end it seems necessary to point out what is obvious to me that may not be obvious to all.

Jamal Khashoggi is reported to be both a Green Card Holder in the United States and not a Green Card Holder in the United States. For our purposes that is immaterial. What is important to know is that the United States of America is officially at war with Osama Bin Laden’s group AQ and ISIS. The Muslim Brotherhood was instrumental in the overthrow of the Governments of Egypt and Libya and there is a large element in the United States that considers the Muslim Brotherhood a Terrorist Organization. That Khashoggi was a personal friend and confidant of Osama Bin Laden is undisputed. Several intelligence groups maintain he is a member and supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and advocate for radical jihad with long lasting ties in Afghanistan.

All of which implies he is, based on his associations, an enemy of the United States and clearly an enemy of our ally Saudi Arabia. The primary purpose of war is to kill the enemy before he kills you if no other recourse is available. Drone strikes can do that, bombs like MOAB can do that as can knives and bullets. The real question is why was the Washington Post consorting with much less employing Jamal Khashoggi? It makes sense that the WaPo may have made a big deal out of his assassination to deflect attention away from that association and to the final fate of their pal. That the U.S. Congress joined in is even more disturbing because by any other means he was also an enemy of the United States and this Khashoggi event has been parlayed into a sensation in the media. Why?

As we all should know, heroin, fentanyl, meth, fake prescription pills containing the aformentioned are primarily produced abroad and smuggled across our borders and into all fifty states. Mostly the Mexican Border.

The Transnational Criminals located in Mexico that bring those illegal drugs into our country and communities from Mexico are every bit as ruthless and violent as any group in World History. They have their members in our cities and towns in every state in America to spread their poison for money. This is organized crime and organized crime cannot exist without political protection in Mexico or the United States. The result is that these Transnational Criminals in Mexico, murder, kill, dismember and spread terror especially to members of the Mexican Press and are responsible for thousands of killings a year, which the article graphically outlines, to protect their criminal enterprise in America.

My question is why is the Congress and the Press (particularly WaPo) focused on the death of a middle east terrorist and ignoring the murder of thousands in Mexico and the overdosing of thousands in the United States? It doesn’t make sense unless of course it is to draw attention away from the crime in Mexico and the United States. This amounts to the press giving protection to the Mexican Cartels much as the press and government is blaming heroin overdoses in the USA on American Doctors and Pharmacists.

To expand on understanding the Immigration Laws of the United States they have two primary purposes, to protect National Security and promote Public Safety. Our Immigration Laws are not about hate. They are gender- and age-neutral. They are about caring for and ensuring the safety of United States Citizens, Lawfully Admitted Permanent Resident Aliens and American Sovereignty.

Which takes us back to my original point, why is the death of a terrorist in the middle east so important while the mass murders of citizens and journalists in Mexico goes unreported. If you don’t know, just read the five above paragraphs again.
