Yesterday, Republican businessman Donald J. Trump surpassed the necessary delegates needed to earn the Republican Party's nomination for president. The Young Republican National Federation (YRNF) congratulates Mr. Trump and the Trump campaign on this milestone. Our primary process was a showcase of the best and brightest of our party and was a hard fought contest to determine the leadership of our party for the presidential election.

Mr. Trump's nomination comes as the likely Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton cannot seem to pull away from the septuagenarian socialist Bernie Sanders. Not to mention, Mrs. Clinton continues to find herself embroiled in the controversy over her illegal use of a private email server during her lackluster time as secretary of state. Mrs. Clinton has repeatedly lied to the American public and her impending nomination should cast doubt upon the entire Democratic Party.

As such, there are many things for our party to fight for this year and having all freedom loving conservatives uniting for that purpose is crucial to ensure success. We must fight to retain the United States Senate and House of Representatives, as well as protect the incredible gains we've made in state legislatures the last decade. We have great candidates from all corners of the country. Many of these candidates are young republicans who bring our generation's fresh perspectives and innovative conservative solutions to the bureaucratic stagnation that persists at all levels of government. Our mission as an organization is to fight for these people and we will not abandon our cause or our party in this most crucial election year.

The YRNF is committed to electing Republicans across the country and developing future leaders of our party and the nation. We appreciate the countless members of the YRNF who have put this organization ahead of self-interests for the successful advancement of the conservative movement over these last few years. It is exactly because of these individuals we have the foundation built to emerge victorious in 2016.
