ALBUQUERQUE – Earlier today, a district court judge ruled against New Mexico Democrats in their desperate attempt to disenfranchise voters and take away their choice by removing Republican Rep. Sharon Clahchischilliage from the ballot.

“Democratic Party leaders are doing everything they can to rig the political process and take choices away from voters,” said RPNM Chairman Ryan Cangiolosi. “They resorted to filing frivolous lawsuits because they know they can’t win a fair fight against an outstanding candidates like Sharon Clahchischilliage. The fact that they are targeting elected women and Native American leaders with these underhanded tactics simply because they won’t fall in line with the Democrats’ partisan agenda makes their actions even more shameful. Voters deserve the opportunity to cast a ballot for the best candidate but New Mexico Democratic Party leadership is more concerned about seizing power at any cost.

“The Attorney General and the Secretary of State should stand up against their political party and stop enabling this activity in order to protect the constitutional rights of every citizen. The court’s decision to deny this corrupt power grab is a victory for voters and for our democracy.”
