The Gaffney-Oglesby Detachment of the Marine Corps League is proud to announce the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball for November 10, 2014. With such a successful Birthday Ball at the Student Memorial Center on the campus of WNMU in 2013 it was decided to have it there again. The large parking lot is accessed from College Avenue.

The celebration will commemorate the 239th Anniversary of the founding of the United States Marine Corps. Activities will begin at 6:00 pm, with dinner at 7:00 and the ball following. The advance cost will be $30 for one person or $55 per couple, and the price at the door will be $35 and $60, respectively.

It is requested that advance reservations be made so the Detachment will have an idea how many people will be attending. This event will give an opportunity for Marines to get together and talk about old times and for new recruits to see and learn the traditions of the Corps.
