Gale L. Moore Estate Sale set for this weekend
Gale Moore, 67, the publisher of the monthly newspaper, the Glenwood Gazette, and of Forever Frontier, a visitor guide covering from west Texas across southern New Mexico into southeastern Arizona, died August 8, 2014 in her home.

A couple of weekends ago, four 4-H students helped pull items out of storage and into the sale area. They were Taylor Brown, Tyler Monzingo, Wesley Lamb and Ethan Fisher. Volunteers continue to sort and organize books, hang artwork and stage memorabilia to show at their best, as well as pricing items to fund the Gale L. Moore Journalism Scholarship for a female student.

The estate sale for Gale Moore's exquisite library, art collection, prized personal collections and so much more will begin this Friday evening, November 21, at 5 pm in the Workshops of Carneros building, 405 N Bullard St, downtown Silver City. The first opening to the public will begin Friday evening from 5-8 pm. Shoppers will pay $20 at the door (couples count as one) for admittance. Shoppers spending $200 or more will receive 10% off their purchases.

Saturday morning the sale will re-open from 8 am -11 am for free admission. Shoppers will receive 25% off their purchases. The last opening from 11:15-12:45 shoppers will receive 50% off their purchases. A live auction will be held after 1 pm for bulk items left over after all other sales. There is something for everyone's holiday list; Cowboys items, mission furniture, over 1000 books (250 cookbooks, local history books, travel books, etc), art from many local artists and international artists, camping equipment, Dutch ovens, nice household items, and much more.

A quote from Gale's journal after first passage through the Gila National Forest as a paid guest on an outfitting trip when she discovered southwestern New Mexico, June 1984: "They say if you drink from the Gila River 3 times, you'll always return. I drank from White Creek, Mogollon Creek, and a few other clear mountain streams that empty into and create the Gila. It's not a case of 'I wish you were here,', but rather, 'I wish I was there.'"

All proceeds will fund an endowed scholarship in Gale's name for a female journalism student.
