The Silver City Museum is proud to offer Chocolate Chip Cookie Mining, a free, fun, and delicious activity for children of all ages, in participation with the Mimbres Regional Arts Council's Chocolate Fantasia. Come on down and mine for chocolate on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 1pm to 3 pm at the Silver City Museum, 312 W. Broadway in downtown Silver City.

With a chocolate chip cookie and a few toothpicks, learn how old-time copper miners extracted ore from the earth. But when it comes to chocolate chip cookie mining, all ores and tailings are edible! While you are here, check out our new exhibit, Storytelling through the Mail: Tall Tale Postcards.

Funding in part for these programs and exhibits is made possible thanks to the members and volunteers of the Silver City Museum Society.

The Silver City Museum creates opportunities for residents and visitors to explore, understand, and celebrate the rich and diverse cultural heritage of southwestern New Mexico by collecting, preserving, researching and interpreting the region's unique history.
