Members of the Copper CowBelles met at a recent Saturday morning workshop to create table decorations for their upcoming Shindig dinner and dance to be held at the Flame on April 25, beginning at 6 p.m. This year's theme for the event is "Race for the Derby" so the decorations have red, black and gold tones to coordinate with the Kentucky Derby's official colors. The evening event will include music by The Yarbrough Band, a beef dinner, desserts, a silent auction and a contest for the best decorated bonnet. Other Derby-themed games will round out the evening. The annual Shindig is the major fundraiser for the CowBelles' scholarships which are awarded to college students pursuing agricultural degrees. Tickets for the event are available at Aunt Judy's Attic, Farm Bureau Insurance, Susan Sumrall and Western Bank.
