The Fourth of July Ice Cream Social is the Silver City Museum's most popular event of the year, drawing a crowd of over 1,400 in 2014. During this old-timey celebration, the museum courtyard is full of games, music, entertainment, and ice cream for all. This event is sponsored by Western Bank and is free and open to the public. This year, the event will be held on Saturday, July 4 from 11 am to 4 pm.

The Cakewalk, a beloved and time honored feature of the Ice Cream Social, needs your help! This activity depends on donated cakes from our generous community. Cakes can be brought to the Museum during normal hours of operation, Tuesday-Friday 9 am-4:30 pm and Saturday-Sunday 10 am -4 pm up until the morning of July 4th. Please call Jan White at 538-5921 with questions or to let her know you are donating a cake.

The Museum is also seeking volunteers to help with the event! If you are able to donate a few hours of your time to help with a variety of activities including ice cream serving, event setup and takedown, family fun activities, and more, it would be greatly appreciated. Please call Jan White at 538-5921 to hear about the opportunities and rewards of volunteering for the Ice Cream Social.

The 2015 Fourth of July Ice Cream Social is generously sponsored by Western Bank. All museum programs are made possible through the support of the Silver City Museum Society.
