Two month countdown!

Visit our website www.swwordfiesta.org

It's only two months until the 2015 Southwest Festival of the Written Word kicks off in historic downtown Silver City, New Mexico, Friday-Sunday, October 2-4.

The Festival includes three days of mingling and conversing with and listening to over fifty outstanding writers who live and work in the Southwest as they discuss their craft and their works.

Silver City is known as the "Gateway to the Gila Wilderness" and in 2015 became the Continental Divide Trail Gateway Community It is the home to world-class restaurants and art galleries. So in addition to immersing yourself in great literature, you can hike, explore, eat like a king, and see some wonderful art. Check out 101 Things to do in Silver City. And, enjoy temperatures that are far more comfortable than those of the lower deserts. It's even cool enough to sleep with your windows open. We'll be posting information on our website soon about accommodations in the area, travel directions, and other things to help you plan your visit.

Silver City is looking forward to welcoming you to the
Southwest Festival of the Written Word.

WILD ANIMAL WRITERS!
August 20-October 2, 2015
"Let's be clear: animals are people too. I'm so tired of the uneven, speciesist treatment that folks hand out. Look, can't we all just get along? Yes, I may be covered with bristles but I'm an attractive, normal javelina. Realizing this - as a writer - led me to create Wild Animal Writers. Its an outlet, a soapbox, a trough to wallow in." - Harvey Javelina

Want to be a Wild Animal Writer? The Southwest Festival of the Written Word is delighted to announce an electronic (via the internet) collaborative writing project that will take place August 20- October 2, 2015.

Sandy Baldwin, one of the Festival presenters and a world renowned proponent of electronic literature, is organizing and moderating the project which will culminate in a presentation at the festival at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday October 4. An eBook containing the group's work will be published!. Just follow this link and let your wild animal take over! Wild Animals Writers!
