What: The Southwest Festival of the Written Word's Marketplace, featuring authors, editors, publishers, and literary organizations, with books and services to sell or discuss, is open to the public free of charge. What: The Southwest Festival of the Written Word presents authors and publishers who live and work in the southwest discussing their work and creative processes in nine festival sessions throughout downtown Silver City, NM at times and venues listed above. Session topics include: the publishing industry, fiction, poetry, history, outdoor writing, narrative non-fiction, conversations about "the writer's life", and historical fiction. What: The Southwest Festival of the Written Word's Opening Ceremony is proud to be the venue for the launch of JJ Amaworo Wilson's new novel, Damnificados. The Times, London, describes his work as: "hard-hitting ... in the kind of language that packs a serious punch". Wilson is WNMU's Writer-in-Residence. Open to the public free of charge.
