Silver City' May 11, 2016 ' This Saturday, May 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd by the will of God and the people of God the Rt. Rev. Michael Vono, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande, will ordain the Rev. Sarah St. John Guck to the Sacred Order of Priests. The public is welcome. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. The church is located on the corner of 7th and Texas Streets in downtown Silver City. Lot parking is available on the corner of 6th and Arizona.

The Rev. Sarah Guck currently serves the community of Western New Mexico University as the Mental Health Therapist. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University. She is completing a Master of Divinity degree from the Episcopal Divinity School in Boston, MA, and will graduate later this month.

In 2014 S was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons. She has served as a deacon at Good Shepherd Church specializing in ministry to children and young families. Following the ordination she will add the duties of assistant rector at Good Shepherd Church, and continue in her current ministries.

Sarah is married to Anthony Guck, retired Physician's Assistant with Silver Health Care. The couple have two sons, Josiah (16) and Toby (14.) Both are students at Aldo Leopold High School.
