The 2016 CLAY Festival, taking place July 23-31, offers a multitude of clay-centric events for all ages in Silver City, New Mexico. Based on the theme, From Oaxaca to Santa Fe, this year's festival branches out to areas of land use, native foods, and archaeology, along with the traditional clay art aspect. Check out the upcoming "happenings" in store for the rest of this week!

Gallery Night.
Anchored by the opening of "Beakers, Cups & Mugs: The Art of Drinking" juried exhibition, Gallery Night features an array of galleries open for a night of art in the Historic District.
Tuesday, July 26, 4-7pm. Various locations.

CLAY Film Festival.
Clay art-focused films will be shown.
Wednesday, July 27, 4-6pm. Silco Theater, 311 N. Bullard Street.

Harry Benjamin Dedication.
A ceremony honoring the first curator of the Silver City Museum, which opened in 1967. Benjamin was also a potter, painter, and noted visionary.
Thursday, July 28, 10-11am. Silver City Museum Courtyard, 312 W. Broadway Street.

CLAY Gala.
The evening will include music, light fare, and a no-host bar, in addition to the opening of a special exhibition and presentation of "Memory Jugs." Fundraiser.
Thursday, July 28, 6-9pm. Seedboat Gallery, 214 W. Yankie Street.

Native Foods Mashup Lunch.
The menu features amaranth, tepary beans, spicy salsas from local gardens, fresh fruit, fresh baked mesquite cornbread, and Mexican chocolate mousse with chia and toasted pi+
