Red Hot Art Fest RSEach October, Silver City becomes a mecca for art lovers everywhere, transformed by the lure of gallery shows, open studio tours, independent artists' shows, special events, music, gourmet food and the creative energy of hundreds of artists!

This year, RED DOT ArtFest & Studio Tour will encompass 10 art-filled days, featuring workshops , lectures and demonstrations. A comprehensive brochure with dates and times will be available in late summer on our website www.silvercityart.com , at gallery locations and at the Silver City Visitor Center. Opening reception, co-hosted by Mimbres Region Arts Council and preview show will be held Friday, Oct. 7 from 5 -7 pm at Seedboat Gallery. Closing Reception info TBA.

Of special interest: Open Studio Tour- Free self-guided tour of artists' studios providing an up-close and personal look into the unique creative process.

Many of these studios welcome a studio visit throughout the year. Feel free to call ahead for an appointment.

The Skinny
Red Dot ArtFest & Studio Tour is an annual self-guided studio tour offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into artists' creative lives. This tour, set in the picturesque small mountain town of Silver City, NM, will showcase artists and their studios. Highlights of this ten-day art-filled celebration will include demonstrations, lectures and special events. Plan to spend several days exploring this artistic, creative community at your leisure!

The Low-Down
This year marks the 19th year that artists will open their studios and collaborate to present public showings of their work. The annual event features painters, printmakers, photographers, ceramicists, jewelers, sculptors, weavers, fiber artists, designers ---offering diverse works from frivolity to fine art! Tour-goers are invited to discover established and emerging artists, experience artists' tools, techniques and workspaces; observe works in progress, interact and learn about art processes from concept to completion and purchase original art in a wide range of media & styles.

Plan Your Visit

First stop: Seedboat Gallery Annex, 214 W Yankie St, Silver City, NM The information hub and Preview Gallery will provide complimentary brochures, maps and local tourism guides.

Gallery staff will be available to assist with tour planning. Many artists' studios are in or near the downtown area, but others are off the beaten path in the scenic region surrounding Silver City.
