The Silver City Food Co-op’s January Community Forum is a class on growing sprouts and micro-greens. Learn simple techniques to provide your own fresh greens all winter long. The Class will be presented twice, Tuesday, January 14 and Thursday, January 16 from noon to one pm in the Co-op Community Room, behind the Co-op Storefront. Light refreshments are served. As part of our home and garden series, The Silver City Food Co-op will host a free class in January: Warm Your Home Naturally: The basics of do-it-yourself passive solar design. The class will introduce the basics of passive solar design: solar gain, insulation, and thermal mass, and use these fundamentals to explain how to design ovens, water heaters and even homes and home renovations. The forum will be held on Thursday, January 9 from noon to 1pm in the Co-op Community Room. All Community Forums are free and open to everyone. For more information call the Co-op at 388-2343.
