Photo: The Illusion Band

Come and enjoy the sounds of The Illusion Band, offered in conjunction with the exhibit, "Parece Que Fue Ayer: Grant County Chicano Music Project," at the Silver City Museum Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 11 am to 1 pm in the museum courtyard. The Silver City Museum is located at 312 W. Broadway in Silver City, NM.

The Illusion Band from Bayard, NM has enjoyed the thrill of performing music since 2001. Drawing their inspiration from various artists and genres, Illusion is a versatile group, playing a variety of music including Country, Oldies, Classic Rock and Tejano . With the core of the group remaining the same since its founding we continue to build on our abilities to play some of the best of the old standards along with current favorites.

The Illusion Band has enjoyed playing many venues in New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. With events ranging from weddings, graduation parties, church fiestas and various clubs, to bigger venues such as The Whole Enchilada Fiesta, Fiesta de Las Flores, The Lordsburg Tejano Fiesta, and the Grant County Chicano Music Festival. The ultimate privilege for the group, has been on more than one occasion, performing at the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair in San Antonio, Texas.

The group consists of Rick Garcia, (Manager), Vocals, Bass Guitar; Monica Garcia, Vocals, flute; Joel Santa Maria, Tenor Sax, Rhythm Guitar, Vocals; Omar Holguin, Lead Guitar; Paul Naranjo , Trombone; Steve Montes, Drums and our youngest member at 9 years old, Ricardo (Cardo) Garcia on Timbales.
